Thought to give out some feedbacks for those of you that are looking at this mouse rest but hesitate like me before..
Here are some feedback after using this for 2 weeks:
Quality of Material
The quality is nice, solid, and smooth, which is a plus because, honestly, it can be toward a little pricy side when it compares to some other regular mouse pads sell in stores. It is well made and definitely looks better in person. It has a nice PU leather feel if that helps. I was a little surprise when I got it in mail. It is smaller than I thought. I had some difficulties to take it out from its box because of its fitted packaging, which is nice because of good protection (plus once you take it out you are not putting it back anyway so no biggie). BE PATIENT, trust me it’s all worth the effort :D
Portable
Because it is unlike the traditional mouse pad (the type with rounded mat with a pillow cushion on the bottom to support your wrest), I found it much easier to carry around with me when I use my work laptop. Even more, I can easily fit it into my bag or backpack to travel with me or just bring it home to use it with my iMac. Since it is not the traditional mouse pad, which means you may not be able to use the mouse pad you have like the one I just mentioned. By saying that, you may need a desk mat or something smooth underneath your mouse so you can glide your mouse rest with your mouse (let them dance together). I have a desk mat at work, so this doesn’t bother me at all. It also helps me a lot, because now my mouse can move freely without limitied by my rounded mouse pad or the pillow cushion that holding me back for using my mouse (some of you out there may know what I meant about that XD).
Not Just a Mouse Rest
I even use it to support my right hand when I type on a keyboard, especially when I need to write long reports for work and procedures. It definitely helps to release the tension for my neck to my should and down to my arm. The down side for this is when there is a transition from using the mouse to keyboard or any lifting your hand away from your mouse and back to it this is the time that you will have to try to “fit” or locate the mouse test and realign your palm/hand position to the mouse rest-since it is kind of mold into your hand shape. At first, I have some struggles to find the rest every time when I lifted up my hand to write something, sign something, and get back to type or use my mouse. It is a learning curve at the beginning but after sometime I got used to it, and it became not an issue anymore. But if there is something that can be modified this may be one of the thing that can be updated.
Not Just for Mouse but also TrackPad
I got this basically for work but also found out it works with my Apple Magic trackpad. So, if you are also a I iMac person like me it will also work for you, too.
Overall, I like this mouse rest. I will definitely recommend this to people that need to use their computer and mouse for a long period of time. With its portability, it will be helpful for those people who need to travel a lot for work and carry their laptops every where or if you are a college student. This little guy will definitely be the companion to your laptop if you prefer to use a mouse rather than the tracking pad on your laptop and it will help you on the go to save your neck, should, and arm. If it has a left hand one (Note-this is for RIGHT hand only), I will definitely get one too. In that case, I can have both of my hands be supported when I do my data analysis or write my reports on the keyboard. Only wish it has white color so it can match with my Apple Trackpad and keyboard
Hope all these feedbacks can help some of you out there that are considering about getting this mouse rest and wondering if this is a right product for you or not.
